WHO SENT THE FIRST RADIO MESSAGE?
A well-known portrait painter,
named Samuel Morse, became
interested in the power of
electricity and realised that
there must be some way of
using it for communications
ever long distances. He de-
vised the series of dots and
dashes which were called the
Morse Code and made it
possible for massages to be
sent over vast distances where
the human voice cannot be
heard.
Morse code is a method used in telecommunication to encode text characters as standardized
sequences of two different signal durations, called dots and dashes, or dits and dahs. Morse code
is named after Samuel Morse, one of the inventors of the telegraph.
